Certification is basically for students who have not done their degree program yet and this certification course lasts from 6 months to 1 year and sometimes it also goes up to 1.5 years to 2 years which varies from course to course and from University to University in Malaysia. There is a wide range of certificate courses you could study, to name a few: Banking, Fashion, Agriculture, Arts, Computer and many more.
This course will introduce you to the basics of the technical knowledge you require in the field of your choice and it will also help you to progress to the higher level of study from the certificate to diploma and the degree course.
Low Entry Requirement- If you are disappointed by your SPM results and you feel there are no hopes left then you should worry no more as the Certificate course only demands 1 credit in SPM. However, you have to keep your eyes open to the courses offered in some colleges where they require a pass in the English Language.
Foundation for higher education- The foundations of the subjects are laid by the certificate course which you will go through in your diploma and degree course after you complete your SPM. But you will have to make sure that you are well versed with the niches of the industry you are planning to do your further studies in.
Studying Industry Specific Skills- While you do this Certificate course, you will gain basic knowledge and technicalities for the industry you chose to proceed with your studies in. Specifically for those who want to study specific skills with a hands-on approach, like the course for Automotive Technology and Hotel Management Operations.
The duration to study a certificate course in Malaysia is 1 year to 1.5 year which also depends on the university you select to study.
The requirement to study a certificate course in Malaysia is not much: IGCSE/SPM with 1 credit or equivalent.
