Removal Of The Quarantine Operations Fixed Charge Fee For Foreign Citizens And Submission Of Mobility Applications To The Malaysian Immigration Department
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide updates regarding:
1. Updates regarding the removal of the quarantine station operations fixed charges of RM2,600 imposed to Foreign Citizen travellers
1.1 EMGS previously released a bulletin dated 24th June 2021 (Update Regarding Quarantine Period For International Students Arriving To Malaysia) which stated that Foreign Citizens are required to pay a fixed fee of RM2,600 for the Quarantine Station Operations upon entering Malaysia. This fee does not include the daily quarantine accommodation cost and COVID-19 detection tests
1.2 Beginning 15th November 2021, the Malaysian Government has decided to remove the RM2,600 Quarantine Station Operations charged to Foreign Citizens (including International Students). Foreign Citizens are still required to pay for then the daily quarantine accommodation cost and COVID-19 detection tests.
2. Submission of Mobility Applications to the Malaysian Immigration Department
2.1 International Students participating in Mobility programmes are allowed entry into Malaysia based on the SOP from the Ministry of Higher Education.
2.2 EMGS will proceed to submit all Mobility Applications to the Malaysian Immigration Department beginning 23rd November 2021 for the eVAL approval.
2.3 Kindly that the eVAL approval for Mobility Applications is solely at the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department.
