Overview of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Industrial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System) in Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
The Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration programme integrates four basic disciplines of engineering; the combination of mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer and software engineering technology. The study of Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration involves aspects of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning Design as the role of Consultancy, contractors, solution provider and mechanical engineering together with an understanding of Troubleshooting and Commissioning.
Programme Aims
The B.E.T in Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration Programme aims to support Malaysia’s aspirations to become an industrialized nation by nurturing skillful, resilient, responsible and globally recognized in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and systems maintenance in producing Engineering Technologists with technopreneurial skills that are relevant to societal and Malaysia economic growth.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
The PEOs are the expected attributes of the graduates of BET in Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration 3-5 years after graduation. Our objectives are:

To produce engineering technologists who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative in Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration Engineering Technology.

To produce engineering technologists who are effective leaders that possess teamwork skills, and have good verbal and non-verbal interpersonal communication skills.

To produce who are committed towards the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

Upon graduation, the students of BET in Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration are expected to have the ability to:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to define and applied an air conditioning & industrial refrigeration engineering procedures, processes, system or methodologies.
- PLO 2
Identify, formulate, research literature and solve broadly-defined of air conditioning & industrial refrigeration problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to their discipline or area of specialization.
- PLO 3
Design solutions for broadly-defined air conditioning and industrial refrigeration technology problems and contribute to the design systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of broadly-defined problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature review, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusion.

Student must complete 12 years of schooling and obtain general pass in their High School Certificate, A-levels or equivalent with min Grade C (60%) in Mathematics and one of the Science subjects (such as Physics, Chemistry or Biology – depending on the programme)
