Overview of Bachelor of mass communication ( hons ) ( public relation and marketing ) in Taylor's University

This degree programme provides a strong PR and event focus and in-depth knowledge in the field of marketing communication allowing students to plan, strategise and execute their marketing plans. Students will receive equal recognition and certification from both Taylor’s University and the University of the West of England (UWE), UK and the option to transfer to UWE in the final year.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Students will experience active engagement with the industry through the module Professional Media Workshop, which provides opportunities to participate in talks, workshops, forums and practical sessions conducted by industry professionals. This includes hands-on exposure to real campaigns, real clients and industry members through the Public Relations Consultancy module and the student formed agency – proPassion Communication.
In addition, students will undergo a 10-12 week internship experience with PR firms, multinational companies or public sector organisations provides real life experience and understanding of the various job functions.
This degree programme is compatible with the new Taylor's Curriculum Framework that allows students to mix & match study modules.

UNIVERSITY CORE
The Ministry of Education (MOE) requires all students to take Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) (i.e. General Studies) which is categorised under U1, U2, U3 and U4 within the duration of their studies. U1 modules are prescribed by MOE whereas U2, U3 and U4 modules are from a list of University Core Modules (UCM) prescribed as per the Programme Guide.
FLEXIBLE EDUCATION
The Flexible Education component provides student the flexibility to study modules in a related or unrelated field from the same or different school to complement the Primary Major. It may be completed in a form of free electives, an extension, minors or a second major that typically requires at least one (1) semester of student learning time.
