Overview of Doctor of Philosophy Science in Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah USAS Malaysia

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. A relevant Master's Degree (Malaysia Qualifications Framework (MQF) Level 7) or equivalent from recognized institution of higher learning AND candidates must have completed at least 1 of their earlier Degrees (Master's or Bachelor's) in Computing or related field; OR
2. A relevant Master's Degree (MQF Level 7) or equivalent from recognized institution of higher learning with 2 years' experience in the domain (including at least 2 publication in the domain) AND candidates must have completed at least 1 of their earlier Degrees (Master's or Bachelor's) in Computing or related field; OR
3. Other relevant qualifications that are recognized and approved by Senate as equivalent to a Master's Degree (MQF Level 7) AND candidates must have completed at least 1 of their earlier Degrees (Master's or Bachelor's) in Computing or related field; OR 
4. A relevant bachelor's degree (MQF Level 6), registered for master's degree programs and approved by Senate;
   1. No direct entry from bachelor's degree level to doctoral degree level.
   2. Candidates registered for Master's degree programs may apply to convert their candidacy to the doctoral degree subjected:
      • Having shown competency and capability in conducting research at doctoral degree level;
      • Can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment by HEP; and
      • Approval by the HEP Senate.

AND

e. The necessary level of competence of English is defined as one of the following:

• • • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 / IELTS score of 5.0;

OR

• • • Equivalent score of any of the above obtained at undergraduate level at a recognized university (document of proof of equivalence from the said university will have to be submitted).
