Overview of Bachelor of Akidah and Religion Studies with Honours in University of Islamic Sciences Malaysia Malaysia
- To be awarded with the Bachelor of Akidah and Religion Studies with Honours, students must complete at least 127 units of credit hours or four (4) years (eight (8) semesters) of fulltime studies. They must follow the course of the stud Religious Affairs Officer, Religious Advisor, Administrative / Executive Officer, Diplomatic Administrative Officer ies and abide by the rules and regulations set by USIM and the faculty.
- The duration of study allowed to every student is eight (8) semesters minimum and 12 semesters maximum.
- Generally, the structure of the programme is divided into four (4) sections, which are University Compulsory courses component (WU), Faculty Compulsory courses component (WF), Programme’s Compulsory courses component (WP) and Programme’s Elective courses component (EP).
OBJECTIVES OF PROGRAMMES
- Explain the principles of Islamic Akidah, Sufism, Philosophy and Comparative Religion based on Islamic scientific traditions and play an effective and full responsibility role as an individual and a member of society.
- Understanding responsibility and practicing Islamic Ethics as a proficient graduate in leadership, social, humanitarian aspects, as well as communicating in Arabic and English.
- Interpreting data and analysing issues related to Islamic Faith, Philosophy, Sufism and Comparative Religion with full ethics and responsibility.
- Identifying problems objectively, critically and providing a wise solution to harmonize different views with the spirit of entrepreneurship, continuous innovation and development using the latest technology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
MALAYSIAN STUDENTS
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STPM
Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate Examination (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with GRADE C in 3 subjects including General Studies;
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STAM
Obtained at least the Rank of Jayyid in the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Examination;
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
DIPLOMA
Has a Diploma IPTA / ILKA / IPTS or other Qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University Senate (special program requirements according to the type of program offered in UA);
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysia University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
has Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in subjects in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subject of History from 2013 . Honors Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STPM
Passed the STPM examination in 2019 and earlier by obtaining at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in three (3) subjects including General Studies ;
OR
MATRIKULATION
Matriculation / Foundation in 2019 and earlier with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 ;
OR
STAM
STAM in 2018 and earlier by getting at least Jayyid Level ;
OR
Pre-U Graduates of Malaysian Sports School / GCE A-Level / International Baccalaureate Diploma / Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) and other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the UA Senate .
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysia University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
- Senior High School / Senior Secondary School / other equivalent pre-university examinations from government schools (with the period of at least 11 to 12 years of study from primary to higher secondary); OR
- General Certificates of Education (GCE) ‘A’ Level / Diploma in related fields or other equivalent pre-university examinations; OR
- Any other certificate that is recognized by the senate of the university as equivalent to the above; AND
- Specific entry requirements based on programmes; AND
- Credit in one (1) Islamic Studies subject at O Level / A Level / equivalent; AND
- Fulfilled English Language Proficiency Requirement; AND
- Fulfilled Arabic Language Proficiency Requirement.
- Obtained at least Grade C (2.00) at A-Level/equivalent in ONE (1) subjects related to the programme applied.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants shall show evidence of proficiency in ENGLISH LANGUAGE* based on the following criteria:
- minimum score in Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 437 (PBT)/equivalent; or
- Band 4 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
- Band 2 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET); or
- Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) equivalence; or
- successfully completed full time secondary or tertiary studies or equivalent qualification where the language of instruction and assessment was in English; or
- native speakers of English
Applicants shall show evidence of proficiency in ARABIC LANGUAGE based on the following criteria:
- Credit in Arabic Language at O-Level/equivalent or A-Level/equivalent
- successfully completed full time secondary or tertiary studies or equivalent qualification where the language of instruction and assessment was in Arabic; or
- native speaker of Arabic; or
- pass University Arabic Placement Test (UAPT) conducted by the University
