Overview of Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours (Information Systems) in University of Sarawak Sarawak UNIMAS Malaysia
Nowadays, enterprises are moving to a higher level of automation and are highly dependent on information provided by computer-based system. These complex systems will become an exceedingly important strategic asset of the organisation. The study of Information System, therefore, is concerned with the development of systems that will get the right information to the right people at the right time.
This programme’s four (4) year structure is designed for students who wish to be competent in deciding how technology are utilise to support organisational/business objectives or to create new opportunities, determine the supporting process and data, implementing computer-based systems and also developing new and innovative products.
All courses consist of extensive theoretical and practical studies will require the use of a wide variety of system development tools. With organisations, people, processes and technical aspects in system development as its focal point, students will be equipped with basic organisational theory, decision-making, project management and system development skills, which are parallel with the latest information technology system.
Graduates of Information System Programme would be able to have careers in fields such as (but not limited to) Information Systems Officer, System Analyst, Database Administrator, Database Analyst, Project Manager, Application Developer, Application Consultant, Business Analyst, Business Process Analyst, User Interface Designer, Web Content Manager, e-Business Manager, IT Consultant, IT Architect, Research Officer and Educator.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
STPM
- Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in Mathematics M or Mathematics T and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or any one (1) Science-based subject AND
- Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
MATRIKULASI / BASICS
- Get at - least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) at the Matriculation / Foundation i in subjects Mat h observe cs AND
- Get at - least credit at the SPM level grade C in subjects Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one of the subjects of Science, Technology and EngineeringAND
- Get at - least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University Bahasa Inggeris Test (MUET)
DIPLOMA
- Possess a Diploma in a related field or other qualification recognized by the UNIMAS Senate by obtaining a CGPA of at least 2.50 AND
- Include academic transcripts from semester one to the final semester OR
- Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in Mathematics M or Mathematics T and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or any one (1) Science-based subject OR
- Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at Matriculation / Foundation level in Mathematics AND
- Obtained at least Grade C credit at SPM level in the subject of Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one subject of Science, Technology and Engineering AND
- Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
EQUIVALENTS
- Have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia paper in July and passed in the subjects of history (SPM 2013 and above) AND
- Have a GCE A Level qualification with at least a Grade C in two (2) Mathematics and Further Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Science OR
- Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 26 and get at least a score of 4 in two (2) subjects at the following High Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL) levels: Mathematics and Science OR
- Have an Australian Matriculation Program (AUSMAT) with at least Grade C for the following two (2) subjects: Mathematics and Science AND
- Obtained at least level 2 (Band 2) in MUET test / Band 5.5 in IELTS test / score 500 in TOEFL PBT test / score 59 in TOEFL IBT test
