With the majority of electrical devices having mechanical parts integrated with electronics components, mechatronics is set to lead the next wave of engineering technology. This internationally recognised Diploma prepares you for the job market by equipping you with the skills and knowledge to develop intelligent machines and advanced manufacturing systems.
Graduates of this programme are qualified to continue with a relevant Degree programme at Nilai University or with our reputable partner universities.
The programme aims to:
PEO 1 | Produce technician with professional attitudes and who are responsible towards both the society and the environment. |
PEO 2 | Produce graduates who are able to work in a team and who have the ability to adapt to the working environment. |
PEO 3 | Produce technicians with the knowledge and skills as well as the ability to pursue further studies in their respective field of engineering. |
Programme Learning Outcomes describe what students are expected to know and able to perform or attain by the time of graduation. These relate to the skill, knowledge, and behavior that students acquire through the programme. Eleven (11) Programme Learning Outcomes of Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering were identified and they are:
PLO 1 | Able to apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals to well-defined engineering procedures and practices. |
PLO 2 | Able to analyse well-defined engineering problems in their discipline with respect to the operation and maintenance, including troubleshooting. |
PLO 3 | Able to conduct investigations and assist in the design of solutions for engineering systems. |
PLO 4 | Able to apply appropriate techniques, resources, and engineering tools to well-defined engineering activities, with an awareness of the limitations. |
PLO 5 | Able to demonstrate an awareness of and consideration for societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and their consequent responsibilities. |
PLO 6 | Able to communicate effectively with the engineering community and society at large. |
PLO 7 | Able to function effectively in a diverse technical team. |
PLO 8 | Able to demonstrate an understanding of professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of engineering practices. |
PLO 9 | Able to demonstrate an awareness of management, business practices and entrepreneurship. |
PLO 10 | Able to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of engineering practices, taking into account the need for sustainable development; |
PLO 11 | Able to recognize the need for professional development and to engage in independent and lifelong learning. |

SPM / O-Level | 3Cs including Mathematics and 1 Science/Technical/Vocational subject AND a pass in English |

*International students with qualifications from educational systems where English language is the main medium of instruction are exempted from this requirement.
International students who do not fulfill the English Language Requirements may join the Intensive English Programme at Nilai University which builds their skills in the language and prepares them for the TOEFL examination
