The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons) programme prepares early childhood professionals who are able to deliver requisite education to young children. This programme integrates both theoretical approach and hands-on experience to enhance the understanding of child development, education theories and pedagogy. We aspire to have our students are able to understand young children’s characteristics and needs in order to create healthy, respectful, supportive and challenging learning environments for all young children. Furthermore, our classes are taught by faculty members with professional experience in the Malaysian education landscape and who adopt various creative and innovative teaching-learning approaches to enhance students’ learning experience. The latest is the Competency-Based Assessment, whereby students are assessed based on their ability to demonstrate their competency in applying the knowledge and skills obtained from the courses within the programme. We are committed to develop reflective, creative and adaptable professionals who engage in informed advocacy for children and families within the curriculum. We also prepare our early childhood educators to be strong and practical mentors who promote the joy of learning in the early years and make a positive and significant difference in children’s lives, for the betterment of families and the advancement of society as a whole. QIU maintains a strong relationship with established kindergartens who accept our early childhood education students for professional experience placement.
