The aim of Master of Engineering (Civil – Structure) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is to provide opportunity for students to develop their knowledge and skills in solving complex civil engineering structures. Training in the advanced analysis and design of structures such as reinforced and precast concrete, steel and composite structures, tall buildings, bridges, marine and offshore structures are available. The program also trains students in conducting research.
Credit Requirements
A student must complete 46 credit hours for graduation. It consists of :
University General Elective Courses
(Total: 6 Credits)
Core Courses
Choose 8 courses from the list offered in this program. At least two courses must be chosen from each of Group A, B and C. (Total: 24 Credits)
GROUP A: Mechanics and Analysis Courses
GROUP B: Design Courses
GROUP C: Materials and Engineering Application Courses
Elective Courses
Choose any two courses offered by any postgraduate program at UTM (6 Credits)
Masters Projects
Take these two courses (10 Credits)
Candidates should hold a good bachelor degree in civil engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or equivalent. A lower grade degree with sufficient working experience will also be considered for admission.
