The Bachelor in New Media Communications aims to produce new media practitioners that can create creative digital media content effectively to the stakeholder. They are also able to create and explore business opportunities in the media industry in line with cultural needs and digital technology development. As media practitioners, they are trained with Islamic values and professional ethics in producing content to the audience and major players in the media industry.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
This course focuses on the development of the internet community which has become a dominant society in the global world today. The increasing number of online communities has given various meanings to the socialization of individuals, groups, organizations, politics and governments. This course emphasizes the theoretical perspective of cyber society, economic values, power and cultural implications.
The course introduces students to major theories of media and communication to examine the developments, uses, practices and interactions of media technology and society. Students will be exposed to multiple perspectives of technology and key theoretical approaches to understand the implications of new media in contemporary society. They will discuss the interrelationship between digital media and human culture fostered by computer-mediated communication.
Digital Media Production is designed to give students the opportunity to develop skills in video production using audio-video equipment technology and computer-based editing software. These skills are needed to produce digital media projects that are effective and impactful.
This course provides a theoretical and practical framework that covers the process of animation production. Emphasis will be placed during the production, production and post-production processes that support character development and animation that shows cause and effect. Students will use this principle to create animations that reflect movements and characters suitable for different uses and environments.
This course positions the digital media method as a methodological approach that combines internet-based data including social communication platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

MALAYSIAN STUDENTS
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STPM
Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate Examination (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with GRADE C in 3 subjects including General Studies;
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STAM
Obtained at least the Rank of Jayyid in the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Examination;
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit (Grade C) Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia paper in July and passed in the subjects of history (SPM 2013 and up ) in the SPM examination;
AND
MATRIKULASI
Pass KPM Matriculation / UM Science Foundation / UiTM Foundation with at least CGPA 2.00;
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysia University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subjects of history beginning in 2013. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
DIPLOMA
Has a Diploma IPTA / ILKA / IPTS or other Qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University Senate (special program requirements according to the type of program offered in UA);
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysia University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
SPM
has Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in subjects in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu and graduated in the subject of History from 2013 . Honors Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language paper in July disregarded;
AND
STPM
Passed the STPM examination in 2019 and earlier by obtaining at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in three (3) subjects including General Studies ;
OR
MATRIKULATION
Matriculation / Foundation in 2019 and earlier with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 ;
OR
STAM
STAM in 2018 and earlier by getting at least Jayyid Level ;
OR
Pre-U Graduates of Malaysian Sports School / GCE A-Level / International Baccalaureate Diploma / Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) and other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the UA Senate .
AND
MUET
Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysia University English Test (MUET) according to the validity period (5 years) from the date the test results are issued.
