It is an all-inclusive study of various aspects of the Construction Management degree course in Malaysia. This study stresses the process, analysis and detailed understanding of theories and methods applied in construction and development. It is on a full-time as well as a part-time basis, which was formerly known as a Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons).
Construction management focuses on the business aspects of construction while civil engineering focuses on structural design and building technologies. Both majors will however give you equal opportunity to enter the construction business.
With the rapid development in Malaysia, managing a construction project can be quite challenging and the need for construction management professionals has been on the rise.
If the idea of planning and implementing a complete construction project appeals to you, then a career in construction management is definitely an option that you should consider. You will be involved throughout the whole development process. You will be overseeing all phases of transforming nothing to something.
Construction is not only limited to buildings but also infrastructure such as roads, bridges, airport and so on.
This programme covers the art of procuring and directing human and physical resources for the successful realization of a construction project, ensuring that the enterprise meets the desires of the client, the requirements of the budget, and the quality of the specification. From building the tallest building or just re-modelling a room in a house, all construction projects need leadership and management expertise.
Construction management is a blend between technology and management. Students will be exposed to hard skills and soft skills. Site visits are an important part of the programme so that students get a clear picture of what they learn in class.
This three-year programme covers both office and fieldwork in order to master the many facets and understand the complexities of the various stages in construction projects. In addition to that, the operation must be profitable. IUKL’s close links with the construction industry ensure that what you learn is relevant to your future career.
The syllabus includes a three-month internship for our students to gain their hands-on experience. This is deemed important as construction management is an industry that requires practical skills and knowledge. You need to truly apply what you have learned in the classroom to your job.
The duration to study Bachelor’s in Construction Management in Malaysia if 3.5 years
The eligibility criteria to study in Malaysia for Construction Management are different in different Universities, you are advised to do your research well for the eligibility criteria before you proceed with your admission plans.
Diploma in Building from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
Or
Diploma in Building from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a minimum of one (1) year relevant working experience.
Or
Diploma in Building Surveying/Diploma in Quantity Surveying/Diploma in Civil Engineering/Bachelor of Science in Architecture/Diploma in Interior Design from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
Or
Diploma in Building Surveying/Diploma in Quantity Surveying/Diploma in Civil Engineering/Bachelor of Science in Architecture/Diploma in Interior Design from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and one (1) year relevant working experience.
Or
Diploma in Building from other institutions recognized by the Public Services Department, Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
Or
Diploma in Building from other institutions recognized by the Public Services Department, Malaysia with minimum CGPA of 2.75 and one (1) year relevant working experience.
Or
Diploma in any relevant area from other institutions recognized by the Public Services Department, Malaysia with minimum CGPA of 3.00 and two (2) years of relevant working experience.
and Pass in SPM equivalent with five (5) credits in Mathematics/Additional Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Additional Science/Science and pass in English. with MUET Band 1

Like always, the cost to study Construction Management in Malaysia also differs from University to University, however, the approximate cost to study a degree program in construction management in Malaysia is for RM 54100 per course.

In a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management program, students are taught the concepts, principles, and skills necessary for competence in this field. Potential construction managers are required to earn at least a bachelor's degree to perform excellently in their careers.
Construction degree programs require a master's degree in construction management or similar field, such as engineering, architecture, business management, or urban planning. Applicants who hold degrees in non-related fields may be considered for admission, but will need to meet additional coursework requirements.
Construction managers typically must have a bachelor's degree, and learn management techniques through on-the-job training. Large construction firms increasingly prefer candidates with both construction experience and a bachelor's degree in a construction-related field.
