Overview of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology in City University Malaysia
Medical Laboratory Technologists are healthcare professionals who contribute to diagnosis and disease monitoring by providing laboratory services. The Medical Laboratory technologist plays an important role as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. They are primarily involved in hospital laboratories, clinics and physician’s office laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, forensic laboratories, research and public health laboratories. This course is offered to fulfill the needs for skilled and trained medical technologist to assist in the operation, development and management of medical laboratories. It is also designed to prepare students with academic knowledge and technical skills to cope with the demand, integrating knowledge gained from general education, health sciences and clinical laboratory science so that students, as future medical Laboratory Technologists exercise good judgment, ethics and appropriate decision-making abilities to serve the needs of the community and the health profession.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Pass SPM / SPMV with at least five (5) credits in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, a Science Subject (General Science / Biology / Chemistry / Physic / Applied Science) and one (1) other subject ; OR
Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in English, Mathematics, a Science subject (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science) and two (2) other subjects ; OR equivalent
