MSU's Bachelor in Computer Forensic programme is designed to develop computer professionals able to track computer-based crimes. You will learn cyber security and applications besides support technologies, be exposed to current and developing principles and practices, and train by various tools and techniques of computer forensics.
i. Pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or pass in STPM or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects and credit in the following subjects at SPM level or its equivalent:
a) Additional Mathematics; or
b) Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects.
Note: Candidates for category i b) need to take Mathematics reinforcement subjects with topics relevant to Computer Science and Software Engineering at the beginning of their studies.
Students must pass the Mathematics reinforcement subject as a prerequisite before being allowed to take the relevant core course. However, this provision does not prevent students from pursuing other courses either core or non-core that do not require the Mathematics reinforcement subject.
Credits for Mathematics reinforcement subjects are additional credits to core subjects and can be considered as credit to graduate.
Mathematics reinforcement subject requirements may be excluded if the Matriculation or Foundation programme or its equivalent offers Mathematics and its achievement is equivalent to / higher than the credit requirements of the Additional Mathematics subject at SPM level;
ii. Pass STPM in Science stream or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in one Mathematic and one Science / ICT subject;
iii. Diploma in Computer Science OR Software Engineering OR Information Technology OR Information Systems or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50;
iv. Any other Diploma in science and technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
Note: Candidates for categories iii and iv with CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process of Higher Education Providers.
