This program is designed by taking into account the latest development in electronic engineering field to prepare the students with the capabilities of solving complex engineering problems in electronic engineering. It covers five electronic engineering disciplines for the prospective students to choose which are Computer Engineering, Medical Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Communication Engineering and Microelectronic Engineering. The program structure contains core electronic engineering courses, elective courses and laboratory (experiments and engineering practice) sessions. Graduates of this program are trained to be competent in the field of electronic engineering to fulfill the industrial demand at the national and international level. In addition, they are equipped with the necessary generic skills which are to be applied holistically in their professional engineering practice. On top of that, the graduates are nurtured to perform their work ethically and faithfully according to the needs of global society.
This program consists of 139 credits to be completed within eight (8) semesters. Assessment of students' performance is based on formative and summative evaluation conducted throughout each semester. The short semester in Year 3 is occupied for industrial training.
YEAR 1 (SEMESTER 1 & 2)
Occupational Safety and Health, Calculus, Computer Programming, Electric Circuits I, Instrumentation and Measurement, Fundamental of Electronic Laboratory, Ordinary Differential Equations, Numerical Programming, Electric Circuits II, Analog Electronics and Digital Electronics.
YEAR 2 (SEMESTER 3 & 4)
Creativity and Innovation, Multivariable Calculus, Control Systems, Signals and Systems, Multimedia Technology and Applications, Electronic Engineering Laboratory I, Engineering Economics and Entrepreneurship, Numerical Methods, Electromagnetic Fields and Waves, Power Systems, Electrical Machines and Electronic Engineering Laboratory II.
YEAR 3 (SEMESTER 5 & 6)
Engineers and Society, Engineering Management, Engineering Statistics, Engineering Practices, Digital Design, Electronic Circuits Analysis and Design, Electronic Communication Systems, Computer Architecture and Organization, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Digital Signal Processing, Electronic Specialization I, Electronic Specialization II and Electronic Engineering Laboratory Ill.
YEAR 3 (SHORT SEMESTER - 10 WEEKS)
Industrial Training.
YEAR 4 (SEMESTER 7 & 8)
Final Year Project I, Integrated Design Project, Electronic Specialization Ill, Electronic Specialization IV, Elective Course I, Electronic Engineering Laboratory IV, Final Year Project II, Electronic Specialization V, Elective Course II and Electronic Specialization Laboratory V.
